Why I’m passionate about helping you…
Jacquelynn Kuhn, LMHC
I love helping women and girls like you gain confidence and learn to calm your racing, worried mind. I spent a lot of time as a kid and adult being anxious, hard on myself, and always waiting for the worst to happen. Working on my own story with a counselor helped me understand myself better and created a way out of self-judgment and constant stress into a space of compassion and care for myself. Don’t get me wrong – I still get anxiety. The difference is that now I know how to work with myself when I get anxious.
After working at Baltimore Child Abuse Center to help child sexual abuse victims, I moved to Washington to pursue a specialty in counseling sexual trauma survivors. I graduated from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and discovered that my own path to healing and wellness naturally attracted clients who struggled with similar issues. Your journey to wellness will undoubtedly look different than mine, but I hope it helps to know I’ve been where you are – and I know you don’t have to stay there.
The first step to improving your life is to learn acceptance and kindness for yourself, and this is central to the way I counsel clients. If you want to know my credentials, just keep scrolling down the page to see all the trainings under my belt. But no matter what technique I use, nothing can replace you and I building trust to dive deeply into who you are. My clients have taught me that counseling must be an emotionally meaningful experience for the benefits to last beyond treatment. We will work together to develop that kind of experience.
